Darren enjoyed his time working with KEG and feels he learned a lot from the experience “working with KEG was both challenging and diverse and provided me with very valuable business experience. It allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills as my job required me to attend a lot of meetings across the business in Waterford and also involved travelling to both the Head Office in the UK and to our Outsourcing Partners in India”.
In 2006 Darren completed a degree in Business and IT with the Waterford Institute of Technology and in the same year was promoted to Project Manager; a move Darren was delighted to make as he felt it would provide him with invaluable business experience. Since becoming Project Manager Darren feels that he has been able to develop highly transferable skills such as project management, time management, organisational skills and business acumen.
Darren knows that all fun and no play makes Darren a very dull boy and he maintains a healthy work life balance at all times and is a bit of an outdoorsy type “I love hiking and try to get up the Comeragh Mountains as often as possible I’ve also just taken up kayaking as Waterford has a fantastic coastline worth exploring up close”.
Darren embraces the social aspect of life in AOL wholeheartedly stating “the social life in AOL Broadband is great, there’s never any shortage of official and unofficial nights out and things going on. There’s great morale in the Call Centre and of course everyone looks forward to letting their hair down at the Christmas Party! |
