November 16th, 2007 – At the Contact Centre Manager’s Association annual awards, AOL Broadband was recognised with three industry “Oscars” including “Contact Centre of the Year 2007”. The company was presented with the awards by RTE personality Sharon Ni Bheolain.
AOL Broadband took “Contact Centre of the Year” for its productivity, training and local community relations. Operations Director Heather Roche was awarded “Contact Centre Manager of the Year 2007” while the entire company also took “Best Online Contact Centre 2007”. Employee Billy King was also “Highly Commended” in the category “Contact Centre Agent of the Year”.
The company fended off competition from some of Ireland’s leading companies to take the three awards. |
The CCMA (Contact Centre Managers Association) Awards, which are regarded as the “Oscars” of the industry, recognise outstanding achievements by contact centres, agents, managers and individuals and are the industry’s benchmark for judging excellence in the industry. An independent panel of judges examine each category under a number of criteria including productivity and measurable results.
“Just after having won two Contact Centre World awards last week, this is another milestone for AOL Broadband in Waterford and an endorsement of its successes to date”, said Alain Meric, Executive Director, AOL Broadband. “Our investment in developing people’s skills and careers at AOL Broadband continues to pay rich dividends and I want to congratulate the entire 750 employees that have each played a large part in our success at this year’s CCMA awards”, he added.
“We can’t believe it, to be honest”, said Heather Roche, who took the Contact Centre Manager of the Year award. “It’s a great achievement for all our teams in Waterford to take three top awards against such stiff competition”, she added.
It’s been a fortnight of celebration at AOL Broadband. Just last week, AOL Broadband was recognised as one of the leading contact centres in the world, scooping two major awards at the Contact Centre World Awards 2007.
Tracy Cullen took Silver under the “Best Contact Centre Supervisor” category, while Rebecca Reynolds was recognised with Bronze in the “Best Community Spirit” section.
