November 17, 2006 - AOL Waterford was last night recognised for outstanding achievement at the Irish Contact Centre Awards 2006.

The Best Technical Support Helpdesk 2006 award went to AOL’s local team, which supports more than 1.5 million broadband customers and is the company’s flagship customer support centre. Some 180 highly trained Agents manage over 10,000 calls a week, covering Broadband set-up, Home Networking and also Fault Management.

AOL was short-listed in a total of three categories “Best Technical Support Help Desk”, “Best Use of Technology” and “Contact Centre Team Leader of the Year”, taking the first award at a special ceremony held in Dublin.

The company also received a commendation for innovation in the "Best use of Technology" category.

Welcoming the recognition, Jackie O’Leary, VP, AOL said: “This is a tribute to our Waterford team and the dedication they show everyday to our customers.  It’s very satisfying when hard work and great effort are recognised and we're really thrilled with this outcome”.
