AOL Broadband believes in giving back to the community and has an award winning Corporate Social Responsibilty Programme in place to ensure the community benefits. 

AOL Broadband works hard to establish and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders and is proud to have won the award for Best Community Spirit at the Contact Centre World Awards in London earlier this year; going on to compete at the world finals in Las Vegas in November.

Employee Volunteer Programme
Employees are granted one days paid leave annually to participate in voluntary activities for a charity of their choice. Some of the local organisations AOL Broadband has helped through volunteering are Cheshire Homes, The Irish Wildlife Trust,and The Sacred Heart Community and Childcare Project.

 

Charity of the Year Programme
Employees selects one main local charity annually to support through fundraising.  In 2005 AOL Broadband Supported St. Martins Special Needs School by donating €20,000 for the purchase of a school bus and in 2006 €10,000 was raised for AOL Broadband employee Linda Maher who sufferers from Friedrich’s Ataxia.  This year AOL Broadband is delighted to support Waterford Childline as the 2007-2008 AOL Broadband Charity of the Year.

 

Employee Sports & Community Group Funding Programme
An Internal Charity Committee invites employees to submit funding applications quarterly Since 2005, AOL Broadband has helped over 60 local charities and not for profit groups through the Sports and Community Group Funding Programme.

 

Sponsorship Programme
Each year AOL Broadband looks for sponsorship opportunities within the local community. In 2007 AOL Broadband sponsored Spraoi, Waterfords street art and world music festival.  Recognising that Sproai is an integral part of Waterford’s culture which greatly enriches the lives of everyone in Waterford and the South East, sponsoring Spraoi was a natural way for AOL Broadband to give back to, and connect with, the people of Waterford and the South East.
